DALI – SONIC BREAKTHROUGH

DALI is a Danish high-fidelity (hi-fi) speaker manufacturer that specializes in designing and manufacturing high-quality speakers for the ultimate audio experience. The company had a new product in the pipeline, the DALI Sound Hub interface box, with wireless communication for speakers and the option for streaming.

Challenges

Developing a high-quality interface box with wireless communication required specialized skills and resources that, at the time, were not present in-house at DALI. Additionally, the design needed to meet requirements regarding quality, stability, and product recognition. DALI needed a partner that could take overall responsibility for the design and implementation of the interface box and turned to DIS/CREADIS.

Solution

DIS/CREADIS took on the task of designing, printing, and verifying the hardware of the interface box, as well as providing software development support. The design was based on a 32-bit ARM processor and a Digital Signal Processor, a microprocessor specially developed for signal processing. The interface box has wireless digital and analog inputs and outputs, and the design process focused on reducing high-frequency electrical noise by simulating signal integrity for fast digital signals.

The design process was carried out in close collaboration between mechanical and electronic experts to coordinate restrictions on the mechanical structure and integration of the prints in the mechanics. DIS/CREADIS verified the design to ensure that it met requirements regarding quality, stability, and product recognition, such as CE marking. We also performed all pre-tests on the system to obtain a wide range of approvals for global markets.

Why DIS/CREADIS

DIS/CREADIS has been instrumental in helping DALI develop a high-quality interface box with wireless communication for speakers. DIS/CREADIS’s experience and expertise in hardware verification and software support have made it possible for DALI to meet the design requirements for quality, stability, and product recognition.

SKY-LIGHT – NEW FLEXIBLE ROBOTIC PACKAGING PRODUCTION MACHINE DELIVERES INCREASED SAFETY FOR NEW PLANT

SKY-LIGHT, a film and packaging manufacturer, has invested in a new production plant that required an efficient and safe packaging system. The previous manual processes were not optimal in terms of the working environment and safety, and the new plant had to be able to handle rolls weighing between 200 kg and 1800 kg (441 lb. to 3968 lb.). This meant that the packaging system needed to be very flexible and capable of adjusting to nine different packing methods. SKY-LIGHT did not have the internal resources to develop this system, and so they contacted DIS/CREADIS to take over the development, construction, design, setup, assembly, and commissioning of the plant.
