PINDSTRUP MOSEBRUG – REVITALIZING WOOD FIBER PRODUCTION

Pindstrup Mosebrug is a Danish company and one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality substrates for professional growers. Pindstrup Mosebrug specializes in producing sphagnum peat moss products for the horticulture industry. They needed to construct a new wood fiber factory in Latvia, where a defibrator would convert wood chips to wood fibers, which would be added as a supplement to sphagnum.

Challenges

The main challenge for Pindstrup Mosebrug was to refurbish and optimize an old paper machine to make wood fibers and establish an efficient flow for the entire production process. They needed to find a partner with the necessary competencies to help them with the development and construction of the wood fiber factory.

Solution

Pindstrup Mosebrug chose DIS/CREADIS as a partner and resource to complete the project. DIS/CREADIS took on the task of developing the production line from the input of raw materials (wood chips) to the transportation of the finished product (wood fiber) to warehouses and platforms. DIS/CREADIS provided advice on the refurbishment and optimization of the existing defibrator. The development of the factory was focused on Pindstrup Mosebrug's own experiences and safety restrictions.

Why DIS/CREADIS

It was obvious that we needed to get in touch with DIS/CREADIS, as they have the competences we needed in connection with the construction of our new wood fiber factory, where the starting point was an old and worn paper machine. Today we have a smooth-running production plant, but it was a major task where we ran into several challenges; none that could not be solved, but it has been really comforting to have a partner like DIS on the sidelines”, says Simon Søe, director of Pindstrup Mosebrug in Latvia.

Pindstrup Mosebrug chose DIS/CREADIS because of their expertise in designing and developing complex technical solutions. They needed a partner with the necessary competencies to help them refurbish and optimize an old paper machine to make wood fibers and establish an efficient flow for the entire production process. DIS/CREADIS was able to provide them with the necessary skills and competencies to complete the project successfully.

SKY-LIGHT – NEW FLEXIBLE ROBOTIC PACKAGING PRODUCTION MACHINE DELIVERES INCREASED SAFETY FOR NEW PLANT

SKY-LIGHT, a film and packaging manufacturer, has invested in a new production plant that required an efficient and safe packaging system. The previous manual processes were not optimal in terms of the working environment and safety, and the new plant had to be able to handle rolls weighing between 200 kg and 1800 kg (441 lb. to 3968 lb.). This meant that the packaging system needed to be very flexible and capable of adjusting to nine different packing methods. SKY-LIGHT did not have the internal resources to develop this system, and so they contacted DIS/CREADIS to take over the development, construction, design, setup, assembly, and commissioning of the plant.
